  7. YAM is a free, MUI based e-mail package for the Amiga.

  9. This version is a fix release to V2.3, which fixes many bugs especially
  10. one security hole concerning the use of escape sequences within MUI
  11. applications.
  12. We are currently working hard on the next 2.4 release but as we received
  13. many posts about some bugs in the last 2.3 release we decided to create
  14. this bugfixing release until the 2.4 is ready which will also bring up some
  15. new important features into the world of YAM...

  21. Due to lack of time and motivation, Marcel Beck (original author of YAM)
  22. gave up development. The sources have been released under the GNU General
  23. Public License, and the project is now being maintained by the YAM Open

  28.                                   IMPORTANT NOTES

  31. To install this update you need an already running 2.3 installation of
  32. YAM on your system as this will only ugrade the main executable of YAM.
  33.  
  34. If you never had any 2.x release of YAM running on your system we highly
  35. encourage you to first install the 2.3 release of YAM before you
  36. proceed to install this update release.

  38. If you are unsure about installing this fix release and you have any other
  39. previous version of YAM installed, we highly encourage you to install it,
  40. because this version fixes one important security problem where it was
  41. possible to execute any command by simply receiving a mail with special
  42. escape sequences.
